Venue & Accommodations

Villa Pozzolo

Our goal for the weekend is to create an intimate atmosphere that allows our loved ones to share in the many special moments leading up to our wedding day. With this in mind, we’ve rented out Villa Pozzolo exclusively for our group from May 30 to June 2, providing not only the perfect setting for our day-time festivities but also serving as overnight accommodations for our guests.

Getting There

Located in the picturesque Montaione, Italy, Villa Pozzolo is accessible from Florence and Pisa – both an approx. 50-minute drive through the beautiful Tuscan countryside. If you’d rather skip the winding roads, consider taking a train into Castelfiorentino, which is about 45 minutes from Florence or an hour from Pisa. From there, a quick 10-minute drive will bring you directly to Villa Pozzolo.

Don’t worry if direct flights from the US to Florence / Pisa are limited. We suggest exploring larger international hubs for your initial journey and separately booking a connecting flight to Florence / Pisa (travel between cities in Europe is typically pretty affordable). Google Flights makes it super easy to find good deals - simply enter your travel dates, your departing city, and “Europe” for the destination to find the cities with the best options (or just reach out to Chloe and she’ll be happy to help).

Italy is well connected by train, so if you choose to fly into Rome or Milan, consider taking the train to Florence (approx. 1.5 hours from Rome or 2 hours from Milan). See summary of travel options below (note: these are links and will take you to rome2rio.com for additional details).

Logistics & Transportation

Required Travel Documents

Passports: Be sure to apply several months in advance for a passport if you don’t already have one or yours is expiring within 6 months of your expected return date.

Travel Authorization: You’ll also need to apply for authorization through the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) before traveling. ETIAS travel authorization is valid for up to three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first. You can fill out the application form on the official ETIAS website.

See the state website for the latest travel requirements and information.

Rental Cars

If you would like to drive while you’re here, you’ll need to get an International Driving Permit from AAA before you arrive.

Be sure to visit your local AAA branch or mail in your application, including:

  • the completed IDP application
  • two passport photos
  • your US license
  • $20 for the permit fee

Taxis

You can’t hail a taxi from the street in Tuscany; you have to either find a designated taxi rank (usually located in major squares and at train and bus stations) or call a taxi company in advance.

Villa Pozzolo works with Alessandro Renieri, a local, English-speaking driver. Please contact him directly if you’d like to arrange transportation.

FAQ

When should I RSVP by?

The RSVP date was January 1, 2025. We understand this was a bit earlier than usual, but it was necessary to finalize room assignments. While all rooms have now been assigned, we would still love to have you for daytime events.

Can I stay at the villa?

Overnight accommodations have been reserved at the villa for all guests who RSVP’d by February 1.

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite for your +1!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Weather permitting, we look forward to spending the weekend outside under the beautiful Tuscan sun and enjoying Villa Pozzolo’s rolling hills, vineyards, and heated saltwater pool.

What will the weather be like?

The weather in Tuscany this time of year is typically very beautiful, featuring warm temperatures and abundant sunshine. Expect daytime highs ranging from 72-86°F. Evenings may be cooler (ranging from 65-70°F), so it’s advisable to have a light shawl or jacket on hand.

What should I wear?

We’ve included guidance on dress code in the draft itinerary. In general, we ask that you embrace the region’s vibrant spirit with your wardrobe choices. Ditch the black, and instead, opt for light and bright colors that reflect the warmth and beauty of the surroundings. For inspiration, think flowing dresses and linen suits.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn’t I wear?

Opt for comfortable footwear suitable for an outdoor setting. Consider sandals, flats, or shoes with a low heel to navigate the outdoor venue with ease.

How can we contribute to the big day?

Join us in creating unforgettable memories during our wedding weekend by embracing the joy of the moment. Laugh freely, dance if you feel the rhythm, and keep an open heart for novelty and unexpected moments. Your relaxed and cheerful presence is all we could ask for.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Of course! Please just be mindful not to block the photographer or view of the people sitting behind you if taking photos during the ceremony.

Will food be served?

Yes! Food will be served at the welcome dinner and on the wedding day. For those staying at the villa, unlimited food and drinks will be available for the full weekend. We have worked closely with the 3 in-house chefs to design a daily changing menu (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).

Is there wifi at the venue?

Yes.

Do you have a registry?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift of all, but for those who would like to contribute in another way, we have curated a selection of items we would love to have in our home.

Who can I contact with questions?

Please reach out to Chloe with any additional questions (including help figuring out travel).
